Minato-ku
Minato is one of the 23 wards of Tokyo, Japan. As of 1 March 2008, it was recorded of having an official population of 217,335 and a density of 10,865 persons per km². The total area of Minato-ku is 20.34 km².
Minato hosts 49 embassies. It is also home to various companies, including Honda, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, NEC, Sony, Fujitsu and Toshiba.
Minato is located southwest of the Imperial Palace and has boundaries with the wards of Chiyoda, Chūō, Kōtō (in Odaiba), Shinagawa, Shibuya, and Shinjuku.
Minato-ku has ultra-modern attractions, such as the man-made island of Odaiba, and entertainment centers like Roppongi. In Minato-ku a visitor can also enjoy a variety of activities from windsurfing in the Tokyo Bay to visits to, parks, and historic temples and shrines.
