[Artisan’s Life Vol.26] “Joy” of All Kinds!
The manekineko (beckoning cat) is a talisman of success in business, and the daruma doll of falling seven times, but standing back up eight. There is a custom which has been practiced in Japan since old times of wearing things that have designs of Zodiac such as an amulet against evils.
In the exhibition, we proudly introduce a collection of several Japanese good luck charms, such as the manekineko, daruma, and eto-sensu (fan with Zodiac sign design).
